General
Castle & Pryor Ltd (Airfield & Infrastructure Division) are recruiting Gangers and Groundworkers for exciting new and ongoing works across Hampshire and further afield.
The work involves carrying out specialist shallow recess repairs asphalt and concrete roadways and aircraft runways using a hot applied polymer-resin material and cutting, raking out and re-sealing existing expansion joints using a either a hot pour bitumen system or a 2-part elastomeric resin system.
Experience in the use and maintenance of mastic asphalt mixers and bitumen boilers is essential, though type specific training will be given.
All work has to be completed to a high specification, so an eye for detail is essential.
This is prestigious work for high end clients and attention to detail and a willingness to work to a high standard, including following all H&S guidelines is essential.
Ability to gain security clearance for military establishments and civilian airport works both in the UK and overseas preferred, but only essential for some roles.
International opportunities do arise from time to time and can attract enhanced remuneration.
Training is available for ALL ROLES.
Ganger
Essential:
- Experience in the use and maintenance of mastic asphalt mixers and bitumen boilers (type specific training will be given).
- Proven experience running a gang.
- Ability to complete work records accurately and communicate professionally in this customer facing role.
- CSCS card (or the ability to gain).
- Full Driving License.
Preferred:
- Driving license for towing a plant trailer.
Role & Responsibilities:
- Take responsibility for completing specialist shallow recess repairs to asphalt and concrete roadways and aircraft runways.
- Drive productivity forward through a can-do approach.
- Lead by example to the rest of your gang.
- Take responsibility for plant and equipment to enable the gang to carry out the required work to a high standard.
- Train new gang members and promote a right first-time approach.
- Duties and work locations may vary.
Groundworker
Ability to work as part of a small team to complete road and runway repairs to a high standard.
Essential Skills:
- Experience of carrying out small road repairs using conventional methods beneficial (process specific training will be given).
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic essential.
- Full driving licence essential.
- Ability to tow a plant trailer advantageous but not essential (training available).
