A Career in Diamond Drilling With Castle & Pryor
Castle and Pryor are recruiting for diamond drillers, both experienced and as trainees, within the UK. It's an exciting time for the construction industry, with steady signs of recovery and substantial government investment. The industry is showing continued strengthening in the commercial markets and consequently there is a shortage of skilled trades' people, of which diamond drilling, cutting, sawing and controlled demolition is in particularly high demand.
A commitment to personal and professional growth
At Castle and Pryor, we are committed to developing our people in their chosen career paths and to grow their skill base with extensive investment, including the NVQ programme. We believe the continual growth and strength of our business and sector lies with our talented team, by providing them with the opportunities to develop a sought-after trade and with the skills to help them grow both as people and employees.
About Diamond Drilling
Diamond drilling and cutting of concrete is a specialist trade. Professional, highly-trained and qualified operatives are in high-demand to execute these precise construction techniques. We pride ourselves in the training and development of our staff, equipping our operatives with the specialist skills they need. We prepare them for the demands and rigours of delivering a premium, reliable and professional service to our clients.
Continual investment in construction skills
Our training commitment goes way beyond the industry minimum qualification. All our trainees - and experienced drillers - are qualified to NVQ Level 2 Sawing and Cutting, and many employees also receive on-going certifications within the construction sector during their tenure. Our operatives begin with diamond drilling, then progress to other skills, such as floor and track sawing. These skills allow operatives to drill holes and cut through concrete, masonry, metals and most solid materials.
Once these skills are in place, our operatives' progress to diamond wire sawing, which facilitates the removal of reinforced concrete beams and deep structures when conventional saw cutting is not viable. Finally, our operatives are trained in hydraulic and robotically controlled demolition.
A unique and changing working environment
Our operatives work in some of the most unusual places and sometimes in the most unusual situations. We are known for working discretely in hospitals, shopping centres, archaeological digs, at airports - both by the aircraft, on runways and under runways. We have even been known to work in kilns, furnaces, water towers and even underwater! No two jobs are ever the same.
Most of our work is within the UK, however our exceptional reputation has drawn attention at an international level. We recently worked for the Ministry of Defence at the very unusual location of Ascension Island, deep in the south Atlantic. In addition, we've regularly worked at two of the largest airports in Europe, Heathrow and Gatwick.
There is virtually no place, building, venue (indoors or outdoors) that we haven't been contracted to work in over the last 24 years within the UK. Interested? Contact us now and get your construction career moving with us!
