Current News

At present we are working at Kings Cross station for Scanmoor Construction Ltd, on the channel tunnel extension project. To date on this project we have provided specialist machinery to overcome difficult situations. Some areas required the use of our electric robotic Brokk machines, these have become very favourable with LUL because they meet the high speciation required to overcome the type of work undertaken. All of this was demonstrated to LUL at our open day.

Robotic Demolition

Castle & Pryor’s machines are powered by three-phase electricity [no fumes] and are remotely operated enabling safe working for the operatives and other trades working in close proximity. They come with a range of attachments, which include hydraulic breakers, hydraulic crushers, excavating buckets and drums planers. All of which have been excellent in overcoming site restrictions commonly experienced in the rail industry such as Access, Noise, Fumes, and HAV-White Finger.

Diamond Cutting

Castle & Pryor’s Ltd other activities consist of specialist cutting equipment, which is used to cut through reinforced concrete, rock and stone. At St Pancras Station we were contracted in to diamond core drill and test the samples into the existing brick arches. This operation was carried out for Corus Rail Consultancy; it gave them the necessary information to prove the structural integrity of the upper arches so that trains could be diverted whilst major works were carried out. At Kings Cross Station we were employed to isolating large areas using our diamond cutting techniques. This enabled our own controlled demolition work and others general demolition to be carried out with minimal disruption to the rail network.

New Antislip Solutions

At Castle & Pryor we are always looking at new innovations whether that involves specialist machinery or new diamond cutting techniques. We are pleased to announce the launch our new patented antislip grooving method for use on concrete, marble, and ceramic steps. It is proving to be very popular with designers and architects alike who are nominating its use on future and existing projects to combat slip. Low cost and minimal maintenance the grooving technique is proving to be very popular.
